Part Ten
She spent the next two days in AJ's room crying herself to sleep both nights. That morning when she woke up AJ was sitting up on his bed watching cartoons.
"Good morning sleepy head."
"Good morning" she said, falling on her way to brush her teeth.
"Are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm fine" she weakily replied, trying to get back up.
He noticed she was struggling and helped her up. He walked her to the bathroom and leaned her against the sink so she could brush her teeth. As she brushed her teeth he filled the tub with bubble bath and warm water. He put candles everywhere, lit them and grabbed a couple towels down off the rack.
"Here ya go, take a nice warm bubble bath, and I'll be right in here, watching tv" he turned the light off and closed the door as he left her in the bathroom.
Almost an hour later she walked out with a towel around her and one on her head
"I need some clothes. And they're still in Nick's room, will you walk with me?"
"Yeah, but put this robe on first."
She put the robe on over her towel and walked out the door to Nicks room. She walked in to find him sitting on his bed watching tv in boxers. She walked right past and grabbed her an outfit and her cell phone and walked back to AJ's bathroom and got dressed.
"Feel better?"
"Yeah."
"Want to go get something to eat?"
"I'm not really hungry."
"Yes you are, come on."
"No, I'm not" she smiled.
He picked her up and carried her to the elevator.
"NO, AJ, NO. I HATE ELEVATORS" she screamed.
"Are you gonna walk down the steps?"
"Yeah, yeah, just dont put me on the elevator."
He smiled and led her down the stairs.
"Let me stay in front of you, in case you decide to fall again."
"I didnt exactly decide to the first time" she laughed.
"You know what I mean."
She order a bagel and skim milk, like she usually did, but it just sat on the table in front of her.
"Come on, eat!"
"Im not hungry."
"Nick would want you to eat."
Tears fell down her face as she smiled.
"He didnt want me, so I dont care what he would want for me."
"He never said he didnt want you, or that he didnt care. He just felt it was unfair for y'all to stay together when he wasnt sure what was going on in his head or heart. He didnt feel it was fair to you. And he still wants to be friends. I know thats not gonna go well at first, but just talk to him. Give him a chance, he never meant to hurt you."
"I guess, but I cant go by myself."
"Krystal will go with you."
"Why cant you?"
"Im not sure that would be a good idea."
"And why not?"
"Are you sure, you dont want Krystal to go with you?"
"Im sure, I need you to go with me, you've been there for me these past days, you're the one that needs to be there for me now."
"Ok, ok, ok." he smiled.
She took a bite out of her bagel.
"Whenever you're ready."
They walked to Nick's room and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
She told AJ to wait next to the door and if he heard her crying to come in. She walked in and talked to Nick for a little while then opened the door and walked out.
"So???"
"Friends!" she smiled.
"Good."
"But can I still stay in your room?"
"Yeah, if you want."
She started walking towards his room when she heard her cell phone ringing, she ran to his room and grabbed it.
"Hello."
"Tippy?"
"Yeah."
"What happened to calling someone back?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Didn't they tell you I called?"
"No. Who is they?"
"AJ."
"No, he didnt."
"Oh. Well, I called when you and Nick were at the movies and he said he'd have you call me when y'all got back from the club."
"Sorry. I never got the message. So, whats up?"
"Not much. You sound happy, what are you up to?"
"I just talked to Nick."
"So??"
"He dumped me the morning after we went to the club, and I havent talked to him since."
"But I thought y'all were sharing a room."
"Yeah, we were, but after that I ran down here, and I've been staying in here since."
"Where's here?"
"AJ's room."
"Oh. Dont tell me you're sleeping in the same bed as him already."
"No, I'm not that stupid."
She told Jess what all had been going on and Jess told her what was going on back home. They talked for a couple of hours, then Tippy decided to get a real nights sleep.
"Im gonna go to bed, I'll email you tomorrow or whatever."
"Ok, be good."
Tippy hung up and laid on the bed she'd cried herself to sleep on for the past few days, only tonight she felt relieved and happy.
